Marriage Licenses
Any person who wishes to be married, can apply for a marriage license in the Town Clerk’s office.
The marriage license is valid 24 hours after issuance, but must be used within two months.
There is a $40 fee. Credit cards and out-of-state checks are not accepted.
Each applicant must bring:
If there were any prior marriages, a certified document must show that the marriage no longer exists, such as divorce papers, state annulment papers or death certificates. One document must be supplied for each prior marriage.

Applicant Requirements
- The applicant must be 18 years or older.
- If younger than 18, applicant must be accompanied by both parents.
Required Documents
Each applicant must bring:
- A completed Marriage License Application (PDF)
- A certified copy of their birth certificate if not in English, a certified translation must be provided)
- Driver’s license or government picture identification
- Social Security Number
Prior Marriages
