The Town of Southeast Planning Board office accepts and processes land use applications as follows:
- Applications for construction, renovation or changes in the use of commercial structures
- Subdivision of land, both residential and commercial
In addition, by appointment only, the Planning Department will meet with applicants to assist them with the planning process for future use of a parcel of land, or to discuss where they may wish to locate their business within the Town of Southeast. The Planning Board office also reviews the Zoning regulations with applicants and walks them through the planning review process.
Planning Board members are your neighbors. The Board welcomes and encourages public attendance at meetings and active participation whenever there is a public hearing on a particular project. It is an excellent way for residents of the Town to see how the Planning process works and to understand how their Town is being developed. Attendance at meetings gives residents the opportunity to participate in that development process and help plan for the future of the Town.
Property owners are advised that Town of Southeast regulated wetlands, as defined in Chapter 78 of Town Code, may be of any size and may not appear on any of the maps available through either NYSDEC or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. These links are provided for reference only. Property owners who think they may have wetlands on their property are advised to consult with a professional engineer or wetland scientist prior to making application to the Town of Southeast.
