The Special Districts Department administers the obligations of each district. These responsibilities include:
Providing safe, potable drinking water meeting State and County requirements to water district residents and users
Providing customer service to district residents. We encourage you to contact us; we are here to address your questions and concerns
Overseeing meter reading and quarterly billing of Special District charges
Acting on behalf of the Town in hiring contractors and engineers to perform necessary work
Preparing budgets for each of the Special Districts. Monitor and control costs and revenues to achieve balanced budget
Addressing correspondence from appropriate regulatory agencies (Department of Environmental Conservation, Department of Environmental Protection, NYS Department of Health, and the Putnam County Health Department) concerning the districts
Overseeing the design and construction of Capital Projects
Providing the Town Board with recommendations for annual rate changes and district improvements
Providing each water district with the annual water quality report specific to their district
Contractor of Water and Sewer Operations.
The Special Districts Administrator manages the services Provided by JCO Inc., the contract operator for the day-to-day operation of the water and sewer facilities.
